The first Crop Circle in my country

Yesterday, I watch a movie told about aliens and all living thing lived far away from the earth. I didn't know the title of the movie, but it was nice watching it. It showed some unbelievable creatures such as some space robot, aliens, UFO, and many more. It reminds me of a last year news report in my country. I don’t know exactly the date. The news told about crop circle, a rare phenomenon which mostly be reported in western countries. Crop circle become special issues because it was the first Crop circle in my country, Indonesia. The crop circle made on green rice field in Sleman, Central Java. Here is the picture :

Once again a post tells about Indonesia. This time, I tell one ofmusical instruments from Indonesia.It is called angklung. The Angklungis a musical instrument made of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame.The tubes are carved to have a resonant pitch when struck and are tuned to octaves.The base of the frame is held in one hand, whilst the other hand shakes theinstrument rapidly. This causes a repeating note to sound. Each of three ormore performers in an angkalung ensemble play just one note or more, butaltogether complete melodies are produced. The Angklung is popular throughout Southeast Asia, but it originatedin today's Indonesiaand has been played by the Sundanese for many centuries.

According to Dr.Groneman, angklung had already been a favorite
musicalinstrument of the entire archipelago even before the Hindu era. According toYaap Kunst in "Music in Java", next to West Java angklung is alsomentioned to exist in South Sumatra and Kalimantan.Lampung, East Java and Central Java are alsofamiliar with the instrument.
The oldest surviving angklung is 400 years old Angklung Gubrag. It was madein the 17th century in Jasinga, Bogor.Other antique angklung are stored in the SriBaduga Museum,Bandung. Theoldest angklung tradition is called "Angklung Buhun" (Sundanese:"Ancient Angklung") from Lebak Regency, Banten Angklung buhun is anancient type of angklung played by Baduy people of inland Banten provinceduring Seren Taun harvestceremony.
UNESCO designated the angklung a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritageof Humanity on November 18, 2010. and for this Indonesian people should proudof the instrument

Cendrawasih

Cendrawasih

Cendrawasih is belong to Paradisaeidae family from Passeriformes Ordo. They have been found in eastern Indonesia , Torres Islands, Papua Nugini, dan Eastern Australia. This bird family known for their fur especially the male one which have long complicated fur along their pike, wings or their head. The size of this bird is around 50 gram and 15 cm for the king of Cendrawasih to 430 gram and 110 cm for the black pike Cendrawasih.

The most popular cendrawasih is belong to Paradisaea genus, including their species type, big yellow cendrawasih, Paradisaea apoda. This type
has been described as specimen which bought to Europe from an Expedition. This specimen was prepared by original bird seller in papua, they took away their wings and legs to become ornaments or handycraft. The Expedition team are never know about this situation so that it make a beliving that this kind of birds were never landing to the ground and keep flying because of their wings. This is the Origin story why the birds called ‘bird of paradis’ by English people and apoda type for 'don’t have legs'.

There many type of the birds have difficult matter on how they make such a ritual activities when they are marry. The way Paradisaea type marry is by the male birds come together to show their beautiful dancing to the female to have a sex. While the other type like Cicinnurus and Parotia have a regular dancing when they are marry. The male on sexual dimorfik type have poligami characteristic. There are many hybrid birds described as a new species, and some of them judge as not valid.

The red "People of the forest"

There are many Apes lived in Indonesia, one of them are Orangutans. They are the largest tree-climbing mammal and the only great ape found in Asia. Their range state is around Indonesia, and Malaysia.

The lowland forest habitats of this red "man of the forest" are fast disappearing under the chainsaw, or being burned deliberately to make way for agriculture and oil palm plantations. Unless these unique apes are conserved in well-managed, secure protected areas, and in wider forest landscapes connected by corridors, they may well be facing extinction in the wild.

They have a
characteristic ape-like shape; shaggy reddish fur and grasping both hands and feet, with very long arms that may reach 2 m in length. Legs are relatively short and weak, but the hands and arms are powerful. Adult males are distinguished by their large size, throat pouch and cheek pads on either side of the face.

They travel about by moving from one tree to another, avoiding climbing down to the ground. The species moves on "all fours", with the clenched fist placed on the ground. At night they make a nest of vegetation to sleep in, with smaller ones made during the day to rest.

Wild orangutans have also been observed making tools to scratch themselves, using leafy branches to shelter under, and using branches for foraging, honey collection etc. Released captive individuals are reported to use sticks for digging, fighting, eating, scratching, and many other purposes. Indonesian government must protect this great apes because their status are Endangered to Critically Endangered.

Komodo A Dragon from Indonesia

Again there are others unique animal from Indonesia, That is Komodo. The Komodo dragon is the largest living lizard. The largest verified specimen reached a length of 10.3 feet (3.13 m) and weighed 366 pounds (166 kg). This may have included a substantial amount of undigested food. More typical weights for the largest wild dragons are about 154 pounds (70 kg). Although the Komodo can run briefly at speeds up to 13 mph (20 kph), its hunting strategy is based on stealth and power. They can spend hours in one spot, waiting for a deer, boar, goat, or anything sizable and nutritious.

The muscles of the Komodo's jaws and throat allow it to
swallow huge chunks of meat with astonishing rapidity. Several movable joints, such as the intramuscular hinge, open the lower jaw unusually wide. Komodo dragons are in endangered status because of their limited range. It seem that the Dragons should be given any insurance such as pet insurance to protecting their existence in this world. It would appear that they have been hunted (legally and illegally) over the years, but not to the extent of decimating the population. Komodo National Park, established in 1980, and strict anti-poaching laws have helped protect the dragons, although illegal activity still takes place. Villagers sometimes poison carrion bait to reduce the population, much like ranchers of the American West poison sheep carcasses to rid the area of coyotes before Dutch colonial government instituted protection plans as early as 1915.

Kris (Traditional weapon from Java)

The keris or keris is an asymmetrical dagger indigenous to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei. It is known as kalis in the southern Philippines. The kris is famous for its distinctive wavy blade, but many have straight blades as well. Both a weapon and spiritual object, kris are often considered to have an essence or presence, with some blades possessing good luck and others possessing bad.

Kris history is generally traced through the study of carvings and bas-relief panels found in Southeast Asia. It is widely believed by archaeologists that the earliest kris prototype can be traced to Dong Son in Vietnam circa 300 BC. From there, the design would have been brought into present-day Malaysia by Cham migrants who made their way into the Malay Peninsula twenty centuries ago. Another theory is that the kris was based on daggers from India.concludes from Raffles' (1817) study of the Candi Sukuh that the kris recognized today came into existence around 1361 AD in the kingdom of Majapahit. There exist claims of earlier forms predating the Majapahit kris but none are verifiable. In the past, the majority of kris had straight blades but this became less frequent over time. Some of the most famous renderings of a kris appear on the Borobudur temple (825 CE) and Prambanan temple (850CE).[citation needed]

Kris were worn on a daily basis, especially when travelling because it might be needed for self-defense. Heirloom blades were handed down through successive generations and worn during special events such as weddings.

Batik (traditional clothes from Indonesia)

Batik is a handicraft which have high artistic value and has became part of Indonesian culture (especially java) for long time a go. Javanese women used to make batik as their job so that at that time making batik is an exclusive job for women until “stamp batik” found. It made possible all men to enter this sector.
At the beginning, making batik is
hereditary tradition, so that sometimes designs of batiks could be known where it comes from a certain family. Some of batik design could showing someone status. Even now days, some traditional batik designs only used by Jogjakarta and Surakarta palace family..

Borobudur Temple

Who don't know Borobudur? This Buddha temple have 1460 relief and 504 Stupa in his complex area. Billion of people around the world wish to visit this temple which is included in World Wonder Heritages. It's not surprising because he has beautiful architectures. This temple built by King Samaratungga, one of ancient kings of Mataram, and belong to Sayilendra family. It took almost one hundred years to built this huge temple. The name of
Borobudur itself according to some terraces (Budhara). While some other people said that Borobudur mean a temple on a high place.

Wayang Kulit (Javanese Skin puppets)

This time I’m going to tell you about Indonesian culture again. It is about Wayang kulit. Have you heard it? If no, here is the review. Wayang kulit is one of Indonesian traditional art. It made of drying buffalo skin. Its played by Dalang who narrating dialogues of the story in wayang show. Together with sound of gamelan played by a group of Nayaga (a group of musician) as its background music. Sindens (Singers) who sing a song also made the show become more interesting. Dalang played wayang kulit by sitting behind a huge white cloth screen with blancong (a traditional lamp)to make the screen bright from behind. So that the audience can see the shadow of wayang when it is played. Usually played in night and its show Mahabarata and Ramayana stories. Wayang has
been claimed by UNESCO on November 7th 2003 as amazing art in narrative story and precious heritage. Do your country have a special puppet show? In my country they are some famous wayang shows such as wayang golek, wayang wong, and wayang kulit.

In the latest posting I've described my hometown, Pemalang City. Especially about the square. I've described it because I wanted to tell the world that there were a lot of beautiful places in Indonesia. For example there are Bali island which known as "Pulau Dewata", Pulau mean Island while Dewata mean God, So that Pulau Bali mean God Island, sometime the people of Bali held a lot of ceremonial activity in a year including their traditional dancing such Kecak, oleg, Baris, Janger, and legong dancing. The square of pemalang city

Today I don't have any idea about what topic I should write, so that I decided to tell you simple posting. Its about my beloved city, Pemalang. Like the common city in java, pemalang also have special structure of the square. at the west of the square there are mosque called masjid agung pemalang which large shiny big domes.there are also kabupaten office and the jail at the south of the square. At the east of the square, there are blue-painted fence school, library, and the meeting building. Sometimes this meeting building used for many events. Such as the sport competition, and the book affairs. Two streets are stand on the north of this square. It lead to the beach of pemalang. The center of the square are nothing but many green
grasses and big shading threes are well growth. In the afternoon, many people come from the edges of the town. They having fun in the square. I hope someday you can visit my hometown and enjoy the moment...See yaa

Insulin Vs Diabetes mellitus

Have you heard about Insulin? If no, perhaps you need to ask Diabetics with > 450 mg/dl sometimes they inject in Insulin to their body, In order to keep their blood stability. People who got Diabetes mellitus often feel too hungry, tired, sleepy, etc. because their body can not control sugar in their blood, and their metabolism became chaotic. It is not good that this disease will always live with Diabetics till the end of their live. But, don’t worry there is some solutions to live happy with the disease. Here the solutions:
1. Eat enough and good food only. Avoid sweet taste food, especially which contain Carbohydrate and Sugar.
2. Be active, or you can do other alternative way by doing jogging twice or three times a week in the morning where the air still fresh.
You don’t need to check up your
blood regularly, if you do the tips above absolutely your blood will stable. But, it’s better to check it regularly. Share this information to your family, friends, people, etc. which got diabitus mellitus.Hope my posting will be useful

Global Warming

This is my first posting, I write this article because lately I remembered about my assignment when I was at 5 semester, my lecturer gift me an assignment to me to make a paper with any topic, then I choose global warming as my topic.

Well….that’s not really important. The main factor I want to write this article, because I felt that natures surround me seems to be different with those one when I was child. When I was child the weather in my home village was very cool and fresh in noon, although I lived near beach. Now people begin to talk about climate changes. Sometimes
bring the topic on their headlines.

So what is global warming??...

Global warming is the increasing of earth averages temperatures because of trapping hot light in the earth. This hot light that produced by the sun come into the earth through his atmosphere, reflected by its surface. But, this light can not come out through his atmosphere because of the CO2 and another emission gasses which make the light trapped and causing a lot of bad impacts.

The impacts of this phenomenon are an enormous disasters and suffering which occur in the most part of this earth including the land and water world and all creatures inside. World government tried to prevent the impacts through various program, one of them was by creating protocol conference which the result forced modern countries producing emission in large number of gasses to decreasing the amount of emission.

That is the way government prevents the global warming effects, actually there are still a lot of program created by the government to solve this big problem. But, these programs are nothing without people participants. Everyone should realize that their own home is in danger and needed their hands. Because their hands are very crucial to save this poor world, People contributing is need even just by planting few plants in their own garden to supply O2. Let’s green the world….for the next generation in the future…..
